Comments:  Today I just happened to reach your website at last, which is a gold mine for all Hindus. This website is very unique to other Hindu websites as this covers all sorts of information about Hinduism. Conversion is a big threat to Hindus from Christians and today even Himachal Pradesh Government run by Congress Party enforced anti-conversion law in State ignoring Sonia Gandhi’s instruction not to introduce in Congress ruled states. This shows everyone now has started to realize the danger to Hinduism. Thanks once again for your hard work to compile all this information in this website. Regards.

(Editor’s Note: Thank you for your much for your fine sentiments regarding this website. Conversion is a dreadful intrusion and is therefore a destructive force into India’s religious landscape. It is nothing but a Spiritual imperialism unleashed by the West to undermine, weaken and to threaten ancient Hindu traditions. All other Ancient nature-based Global traditions have succumbed to the onslaught of these very ‘aggressive religions’ in the past. Hopefully, we Hindus will overcome these grave dangers that threaten our very existence. As Mahatma Gandhi has said: "I am a Hindu because it is Hinduism which makes the world worth living" and in his very own words, “Hinduism will burst upon the world with brilliance perhaps unknown before.” Regards).

Colorfully illustrated and concise at the same time explaining the essence of the Oldest Religion. Particularly useful now as we, the Hindus are denigrated and vilified for being non-violent and law-abiding wherever we live. Even the Govt. of India recently expressed that the resources of India must be offered first to people of other religion. (Prime Minister's statement - Dec 2006). Irrespective our castes and geographical location - we Hindus must unite and educate our wards so that the future generations do not just melt away into other aggressive ' religions'. Om Namah Sivayah!

Comments:  SHRI SHRIGURAVE NAMAHA. Param Pujya Shri Narayankaka Dhekane Maharaj would like to invite everyone on this earth to participate in a Global Introductory Trial of Mahayoga Shaktipat (Siddhayoga) for the uplift of all humankind. This introductory trial will be held on January 25th, 2007 from 7:06 am to 7:27 am local time, and those interested can participate during that time at no cost from the privacy of their own homes. All are eligible to participate in this trial regardless of religion, race, sex, age, caste or creed. This world-wide trial can be considered to be a "trailer" or a precursor for the awakening of one's Kundalini Shakti (Universal Life Energy) through Shaktipat (transfer of Energy) from a Siddha Yoga Master. It is a rare opportunity to experience first-hand such a transmission of Energy from a Siddha Guru. Here's how to participate: At the designated time (January 25th, 2007 from 7:06 am to 7:27am local time) sit comfortably with your eyes closed in a quiet location in your home. Instantly observe a wave of energy along your spinal column. Relax your body completely in order to minimize the awareness of your body. Let your mind observe your involuntary breathing. Observe your experiences during the designated time interval and please report them by e-mail to P. P. Narayankaka Maharaj at (mahayoga_kaka@yahoo.com). India, from time immemorial, has considered our world as one nation, with Prana Shakti/Universal Life Energy as the common basis for all human beings. P. P. Narayankaka Maharaj intends to demonstrate our Universal Brotherhood through this Global Trial of Mahayoga Shaktipat. P. P. Shri Narayankaka Dhekane Maharaj (Kaka Maharaj) is a leading teacher and proponent of Mahayoga (Siddhayoga), a centuries-old tradition of spiritualism and Yoga that guides its followers to spiritual self-realization, while continuing to live productive lives in society. He is the only living disciple of P. P. Shri Loknath Tirth Swami Maharaj, who initiated other leading 20th century luminaries of Siddha Yoga, including P. P. Shri Gulvani Maharaj. Kaka Maharaj's objective is to spread the practice of Siddhayoga so that as many people as possible can achieve spiritual self-realization, thus making the world more peaceful and serene. More details of Mahayoga (Siddhayoga) can be found at (www.kundalinishaktipatayoga.net).

Without this knowledge most of which is not available in Western books or libraries I believe I would still be living the lie which they have been trying to force Hindus to live since the first invaders came to our mother land, Bharat. Thank you for enlightening me with wisdom, knowledge and truth. I have now given up eating meat, drinking and smoking. I no longer go out to clubs and bars and have totally changed my mindset. Thank you again for helping me to realize who we are and to be proud of that. Nevertheless - I was walking thru your guest book and I am unpleased with the people around the world who change their religions just because they find something interesting and fascinating in another religion! Hinduism is wonderful but one should not forget that the approach for every religion or way to reach GOD leads to a single destination and HE is the sole entity.

Comments:  I am very excited to see the huge collection on Indology and Hinduism. I have a small grievance/complaint. I felt very sad not to see any information of Maharshi Dayananda Saraswathi and Aryasamaj. I am a Hindu who got inspired by Maharshi Dayananda Saraswathi's literature. I thought Maharshi Dayananda is a great Hindu. The books I read on him says that he is a great Maharshi who asked us to "go back to the Vedas" and to be proud for born in India. I found his definition of Varna and duties of Human beings as he derived from The Vedas were valid. His observation that Aryan Invasion Theory is False is also looks valid. If you incorporate his works and his vision on Vedas it will be complete. It is my humble suggestion Thank you Very Much.

(Editor’s Note: Thank you very much for your suggestions. The information on Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati has been included in chapters on Quotes and Unknown Hindu Revivalists. Regards).

Comments:  You have done a great job and I want to join others to thank you for your sincere effort in educating every one of us. But regarding Classification of Major Scriptures Chart, I have serious doubts. I hope you won't mind me writing this You have classified Bhagavad Gita under Sruti scriptures. Only Vedas and Upanishads are classified under Sruti [that which is heard] Scriptures. In your chart, there is no mention of the 108 Upanishads as Sruti scriptures. Bhagavad Gita which originates in the middle of Ithihasas [Mahabharatam] was never considered as a Sruti scripture in any of the Hindu books I have read so far. Similarly, it will be a great boon to every one, if you can further break down all Sruti and Smriti literature in Hinduism. For example give names of the 6 Dharshanas and 18 Major and 22 minor Puranas etc. It will be a great, if you can also use the word Ithihasas, instead of epics.

(Editor’s Note: Thank you very much for your input and suggestions regarding the chart on the major scriptures. The chart was obtained from the book ‘The Hindu Mind – By Bansi Pandit. According to this book, though The Bhagavad Gita is a part of the epics (Mahabharata), but it is considered as authoritative as the Sruti scriptures. However, I will make the necessary changes to the chart soon. regards).

Comments:  Dear Madam, This is in addition to my yesterday's mail. The word "Allah" has its origin from the Sanskrit word "Allh" that means DEVI. The tradition of saying "Yah Allah" has its origin from purely Hindu traditions; Hindus worship Devi Saraswati by saying 'Ya Kundendu Tushar Haar Dhavala...' The word "Haj" is a distortion of original Sanskrit word "Avrajan". There is a long list of Urdu/Arabic words that appear to have been originated/transcribed from the mother language. Similarly several Islamic traditions are simple modifications or distortions of the Vedic traditions. For details one can go through the books of Sh. Purushottam Nagesh Oak.

Comments:  Dear Madam, I am a regular visitor of this excellent site. Today I saw a list of some Urdu words having direct origin from either Sanskrit or Hindi/Khadi Boli (chapter on Glimpses, XIII; Isabella Onianf). I think, I can add some more: Urdu Sanskrit/Hindi 1. Id Id: Pooja, to pray 2. Id(gaah) Id (as above; Griha: ghar or home 3. Id-az-juha Id; Ajah: goat 4. Macca-Madina Makh-Maidini: Place for fire worship 5. Stan (eg Pakistan) Sthan: Place 6. Namaz Namoh+yaj 7. Hftah Saptah (Sa replaced by Ha) Week 8. Shab-e-barat Shiv-ratri 9. Chand Sans- Chandra; Hindi:Chand; Moon 10. Aamin Appears to have a phonetic relationship with "OM" ;the other word derived from OM is Omni (present/potent) 11. Iran/Iraq Ir dhatu meaning dry sandy place 12. Arab/Arabia Arv;Ashava; horse.

(Editor’s Note: Thank you very much for the information. Will add it to the chapter on Glimpses. regards).

Why don’t you treat us equal as human when we worship animals. Are we not all Hindus? I need answer for this. Raghu. Mysore.

(Editor’s Note: Untouchability is a shameful and reprehensible practice, which is NOT sanctioned by our Hindu scriptures. On the contrary, Hinduism is a way of life, where human beings are exalted to God himself. The divine is within you. Mahatma Gandhi also had similar thought on this problem when he observed: "Hinduism insists on the brotherhood of not only all mankind but of all (including plants and animals) that lives." When you abandon the faith of your ancestors you have accepted defeat as well as you have lost your culture and your identity. It is important that you stay within the Hindu fold and fight for justice. Just like the culturally displaced aborigines of Australia and New Zealand and Blacks and Native Americans have fought and are still struggling against unconcealed and blatant Racism in the West. regards).

I've come to believe that the essential goodness of Hinduism and its emphasis on devotion, cleansing the soul, helping others, and on ahimsa combine to make it a wonderful faith. It has also created wonderful individuals, such as Mahatma Gandhi. I actually made a trek from Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad to Dandi beach two years ago, mostly on foot. I had this unusual and mystical feeling that I was part of the soil that I tread upon, and I could not help but to cry when I reached the sea. I have been saddened by the violence caused by terrorists in India. But I know deep down, as Mahatma Gandhi said, that in the end, all tyrants fall. All of Them. David Matthews Montreal/Toronto. Comments:  Dear Sushamaji, I think this website is the most fantastic thing I have ever come across. My knowledge has increased so much. It is just the thing for these troubled times when maintaining morale and unity is so important. I recently read a book 'The Ark of Covenant' and the description of this Ark make me suspect that it was something from Ancient India. In one of the articles on Chanakya the description of various elements, metallurgy etc. has been given which sounds the same. The White Powder mentioned could be something that they knew about. The book also mentioned Alexander's comments on what he thought was Paradise, which was obviously Puru Desh. I feel that if you can shed more light on this subject it would be wonderful. Another point being Remote Viewing is popular in espionage especially in the U.S. Army. I read a book on this by David Morehouse. Maybe this has some links with Vedic times as well. It could be that various Sidhis can be achieved by methods other than Yogic practices. Also the word Ginn used by the Arabs to describe someone who is brilliant or magical seems to have been obviously taken from the word Jnani and Jina. Please could you point me in the right direction? Thank You Very Much.

(Editor's Note: Thank you for your thoughtful compliments and for sharing information regarding Ancient India and Remote Viewing. Currently I do not have much information on these fascinating topics but I will try to do more research and will get back to you. regards).

Comments:  I think "HINDU WISDOM" sounds better and it would be more appropriate than previous name. In order to make this site more popular wallpapers of Hindu god/goddess and mantra should be available in this site. I think it will be appreciated.

(Editor's Note: Thank you very much for your comments and suggestions. I will try to add mantras and images in the future updates. regards).

Comments:  I have sent the website name to all members of the family. I described the website as a 'goldmine' on Hinduism. It is the richest website for it's references. Good luck with the publication of the book. There is a great awakening in the UK Hindus too.

Comments:  Dear Sushama, I really appreciate your time & work in developing such a good site. I want to add some info which will be useful for `Aryan Invasion Theory '. You can check http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Out_of_India_theory where I have added something which is very useful in logical & scientific terms. There are some points, which I have written with links etc. on talk pages of AIT/AM/OIT in Wikipedia. There are some points like Vedic Rishis', Apsaras' name in Russian people. Shrimad Bhagavata's dating based on Precession of Equinoxes etc. There are some logical questions regarding Aryan problem, which made Aryan theory supporters speechless or abusive.

(Editor's Note: Thank you very much for providing this information and link. I will add it all relevant chapters including the Aryan Invasion Theory. regards).

Comments:  I am truly speechless. I have read many, many books on everything on this website, but you have put everything that I had hoped I could share with my four children (university students), into one nutshell. Your site is meticulously organized, informative and above all it is logically very centripetal. I will definitely recommend your website. Thank you. Sincerely.

(Editor's Note: Thank you very much for your kind and pensive comments. I do appreciate your support in spreading information about this website. regards).
