Comments:  Excellent site, keep up the good work. http://www.hindunet.org/hindu_history/ancient/aryan/aryan_frawley_1.html The above link better describes the myth of the aryans. The whole problem is global because of the false superiority attached to 'being white'...the power, the money, the control...It has even found its way into bollywood thanks to the divide and conquer mullahs. The fact is that 99.9% of Indians are brown/black to varying degrees; face it and learn to love it. And punjab is just one part of India where peoples features also show the australoid connections;face it and learn to love it. The fact that Indians are so colour conscious now shows how backward we have become. Fair and Lovely cannot work miracles...it can't hide the truth for long.

Comments:  It is very surprising that Hindo people (Hindu, Buddhist, Jains, Sikh, Muslim) themselves do not know the great contributions of Hind that deeply influenced the Western civilization. I would like to share some very interesting information about Nalinda University: Most of the people of Hind do not know that Nalinda was the first University in the world. (1) In 1986, in a library in West Haven, CT, I was reading Fodor's Travel book on India. On 'ancient Indian History' page, in one place it says, "There are no Greek scholars who became famous in the Western world, that they themselves did not came for learning in Nalinda University (in Bihar), or their teachers did not travel to Nalinda for education." "Students from all over the world used to come to Nalinda for education. Students felt proud to be the graduate from Nalinda, and not from Oxford" (2) In the same year, in Hamden Public Library, Hamden, CT, I was reading a History book on Greece, written by a Greek writer (I did not note down the name, and I do not remember now). In one page, I found a list of twelve Greek scholars (out of hundreds) who graduated from Nalinda University. Since I was reading for curiosity, and not for research, I did not even think of making a copy of the page, or note down the book reference. However I remember the following names that were among the list who graduated from Nalinda University: 1. Socrates 2. Pythagoras 3. Achilles 4. Archimedes 5. Megasthenes 6. Plato (3) We had a house tutor in our home in Dhaka, Bangladesh. At that time we were school going teens. His grand father migrated from Patna, Bihar to Bengal during late 19th century. One day he told us that Socrates, the Greek scholar, graduated from Nalinda University. One day during summer time, he went home in Greece and brought back with him a Greek student who was 12 years old. He told us the name of this 12 years kid, but I do not remember the name now (it may be Plato or Cynics, or somebody else. Our house tutor also told us that during Turkish conquest of Bihar and Bengal in 1299AD -1300 AD, the defeated Hindo solders took shelter inside Nalinda and in all it's dormitories. Entire University was wooden and was occupying a huge area. Turkish army started cannon and mortar fire and the whole university was burned to ashes, along with all students' registry books, books of arts, science, mathematics, music, dance, philosophy, psychology and Buddhist scriptures. Very few that survived were removed to Tibet and China for safety. (4)I read the following narratives in Dhaka University Library in 1979: When Alexander's gelerals refused to advance into India, Alexander send emmesery to Emperor Chandragupta MoArya that he wanted to visit Nalinda university where so many of Greek Scholers had their education. Emperor sent a grand reception party to welcome Alexander. But there was a condition that Alexander and his men will be allowed only light wepons (like sords), and nothing else. Emperor himself pledged protection to the Greek guests. Though Alexander accepted the terms, all his generals refused for security reason. India should spend a considerable amount of money for research and revival of Nalinda University.

Hinduism is sure a great religion with it's rich cultural and religious heritage. I am so proud to be a follower of the world's most ancient religion in my own simple way. Sushmaji, something to think about -If your web site could cover some testimonials of people's conversion to Hinduism, it would make it even better. Sometimes I think, if only the west had more exposure to Hinduism through the media; TV, cable, movies (a challenge you may want to explore!), I am sure many would follow its ways and the world would be a better place. May all your efforts be richly rewarded! Much appreciated and God Bless you.

Comments:  I really enjoy the site and come back at least once a week. Easy as anything getting around. I have found that some links do not quite work. I am a Hindu by birth and often wonder if I say this because I need to have a faith. However, I do not believe that one should dwell on past atrocities or glories nor should these be forgotten. Hindus have no serious dogma and this can (but hopefully not) force the religion, philosophy into the dungeons of history. Hinduism needs a reawakening (directed at people like me). Maybe as technology progresses life gets faster and living more complicated, we spend less time on who we are and happily accept to be told what to do think and feel. It requires too much work for us to do this purselves. Some of your commenters have said the same. A minority in a minority can be quite overcoming (esecially) the guys outside India. Thank you for the site.

Comments:  The site is simply excellent. It will definitely help to remove the wrong notions about Hinduism and the Indian Heritage, as a whole, and throw ample light on the treasures of Hinduism. Being an engineering student, I took great interest in the chapters devoted for vimanas, ganita, cosmology etc. Of course, all the sections are nice and writeen systematically, with the references. I think it is the duty of every Hindu to know the reality about his own religion. India once had a vast storehouse of knowledge, which today's western world is rediscovering. My best wishes to you for this great work.

It is a brillinnt work and you have done a great service to Hindustan by puting up this site. The distortion of our culture by the European historians for their petty objectives could be understood but what was more distressing was the way our culture was demeaned by our own Leftist intellectuals even after independence. We were creating youths who felt inferior because of this distortion of history and had no national pride. Under such circumstances this site comes as a place where Indians could find out the facts about our history and past and feel proud. You have done a great service to the country. Thanks.

Comments:  I just want to say that this site is fascinating.... I really had no idea that Hinduism and it's tenets were so complicated, thorough and advanced. It is through the understanding of other people and their religions that leads to greater relations between faiths - this site is a shining example of how to help others understand things they knew nothing about. I will freely admit, I was quite ignorant as to the philosophy and accomplishments of Hinduism. This site however, has helped open my mind and further increase my knowledge and understanding of this great and ancient religion - and all of its accomplishments. Thank you for broadening my mental horizons and allowing me the luxury of partaking in the vast body of knowledge that is Hinduism. Sincerely, Dave Jones

I was however disappointed not to see any reference of the works of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami, founder-acarya of the Hare Krishna Movement, through which he spread Vedic dharma around the entire world. His authoritative and voluminous translations of the Bhagavat Purana, Chaitanya Caritamrita, Bhagavad-gita and more, are now translated into more than 30 languages, and these offer access to and understanding of the deep spiritual knowledge of the Vedas. I hope that you will add these important books to your recommended books section.

In my opinion, Ms. Sushama earned a place in the small gallery of 'people who live by the Ancient code' - in so far as 'service to mankind'. I find the content and organization of that content to be excellent. This is certainly one of the very few Hindu Community Sites which every Hindu must visit just to get reacquainted with ones own roots.
