Comments:  It is so refreshing to read about Hindu history, as written by Hindus, as revealed in the Vedas, as it really is. In school, all we learned about Hinduism was trash about the 'caste system,' 'Aryan invasion,' and other lies and propaganda spread by the Brits, in other words the teachers tried their best to make Hinduism look bad. They never drew on quotes from the Vedas, Upanishads, Sutras, Puranas, or any other Hindu texts; all of the history we learned was from the point of view of British "historians." This site presents Hindu history as it really happened, the richest, proudest, history in the world. This is THE best site on Hinduism on the net... 'nuff said.

Comments:  Hi All, Hinduism is the best and oldest of all religions in the World and Its Duty of all of us (Hindus) to promote Hinduism. At least in India it feels so bad when those Muslims are said minorities and given all sorts of privileges, when already there are so many poor Hindus who need help and also other privileges. I think India should Only be called Hindustan and only Hindus should get all the privileges because all other countries have their religions as first priority. Example - An Hindu in Pakistan will not be aided by their govt. to go to Kashi. Like In India they do for Haj. So People, Join hands and Promote Hinduism.

Comments:  Dear Sweet Soul, Excuse me for my pleasure of speaking to you. For those who crave for divine life 'SONG OF LIFE' by Radhey Shiam is reading pleasure, leading one to harmonious living. It contains no direct and dry discussions on any religion, either of the East or of the West, but answers most of the philosophical riddles confronting the seeker as well as gives clear and beautiful word pictures of conceptions and doctrines of religions, leading one to the realization of the ultimate truth in its simple and unique style, rarely seen. The book presents essence of life in a picturesque style. 'Ye Hark. Life if not a bubble, but the very water of endless ocean ever roaring and ever rolling with a joyous and eternal ease. It is not a spark but the very flame of the eternal fire that warms up the universe.' This book is published by Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan, Mumbai and available on internet http://www.bhavans.info/store/bookdetail.asp?bid=449&bauth=Radhey%20Shiam Thank you for taking the time to read this. In Peace & Friendship.

Comments:  This is one of the best sites on Hinduism I have found yet. I'm another Yankee who has "discovered" this priceless gem of Hindu culture, and I conclude that all of mankind must pay its humble respects. There is no other tradition, which can discourse with such intelligence and at the same time touch the soul with sincere spiritual tenderness. Any sincere spiritual, historical, intellectual, and scientific seeker would do well to spend a great deal of time immersed in the Hindu culture. I plan to spend my life trying to grasp it. This website is a great place to start.

This website should be advertised in all schools and universities as an excellent and unbiased study of our timeless faith. It is in my opinion the best thing to educate our own Hindu brethren especially in the West who have certainly lost their way!!! Before we even try to educate others. Let it begin with ourselves. Maharaj Shivaji and Co. would burn with pride if they were around today and read your work. To all the fake Hindus and Indians out there. Read this and weep. Love of God first, then country, then people the rest is history One Love, One Family.

Comments:  When I was very young I was very embarrassed by the way Hindus and Hinduism was portrayed and perceived. I wanted to associate myself with everything Western (since it was cool and so acceptable) and that I even went to the extend of making fun of my own language, culture, movies religion etc so as to look good in front of people of other races. My family especially my grandparents tried to help me understand but I was stubborn and refused to listen even though what they said was logical. But I had a very good Hindu friend named Hariharan who though I made life hell he stuck by me. One day we were sitting when a group of people approached us to talk about converting to their religion and how God loves only people of that religion and the rest will go to hell. Among the group was a Hindu friend of ours who had since converted to that religion and took it upon himself to save others' souls. My friend Hari listened patiently to their discourse and he asked only one question to them which he directed to my other friend who was with the group. "Did you take the trouble to know as much as you can about your own mother before you say that someone else's mother is better? All of them left without saying anything. That day I resolved to know as much as I can about Hinduism and India culture and history and am still doing so. I have read that Vikramaditya's influence had reached even Arabia (http://www.hinduism.co.za/kaabaa.htm) and beyond. That Swami Boganathar Maharaj was possibly the one the call "Lao Tze" in China (check out this website http://palani.org/bhogar-biography.htm) (http://www.indiayogi.com/content/indsaints/MahaAvatarBabaji1.asp) and many other wondrous things that would have escaped me had I given up. Your website is most appreciated and I will refer my friend and genuinely interested parties to your website. I am no more in touch with Hari but my deepest gratitude to him wherever he is. God Bless and Thanks.

It has inspired men not through prophetic visions of miss ionic fulfillment but by bearing witness to the fragility of human existence. It offers not only a personal salvation but a solace from inevitable destiny." However, it would be very interested if somehow, the information that India was indeed very developed in the days gone by can be corroborated by established Western Experts, then all of our hearts will swell with pride as these people have an uncanny knack of getting to the heart of things easily. Comments:  I was very impressed with this presentation of a tribute to Hinduism. I have a group called, "Sounds of the Heart," by msn groups. It is for the healing of the depressions of our lives. Since the mental illnesses are caused by the parts of our lower Character, it is best to Elevate our Character to heal ourselves. When we elevate our Character, our mental illnesses are healed. Since there is only ONE TRUTH in this world, I plan to show it by the study of different TRUTHS found in the different religions of the world. We have many members of this group who have different backgrounds of religions. For them to see and know the Same Truth in various Spiritualities like Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism will expand their minds and elevate their beliefs, which in turn will elevate their minds. There are about 2000 similarities between the Vedas and the Bible and yet these truths take our minds through different paths of realization of the Truth. We hope that this knowledge will provide a basic reality to the mind of persons suffering from misinterpreted thoughts, which is the cause of mental illness. I would like to present your site as a part of Hindu spirituality study. I would appreciate if you can give us your permission to do just that in our group. Thanks for your honored permission. Ramesh.

Comments:  Being an Indian, I was aware of status of Indian women in ancient India. But this website has added detailed knowledge. I was wondering if Hindu women enjoyed freedom and equality, why we do not hear of Hindu women's intellectual contributions? Mahabharat was written by Mharshi Vyasa, Ramayan was written by Valmiki. We also read about work of Panini, Patanjali, Aryabhatta, Kavi Kalidas, Raja Ravi Verma etc. But we do not have any information about female contribution in Vedic Math, Vedic literature, and scientific inventions. Could anybody give me such information? I am also interested in the beginning of the period and practices when Hindu men suppressed Hindu women. How come Hindu women with such a great potential are still suppressed by Hindu men?

Comments:  Sammukha.... again!! Well, I found originator of the question as I read the postings. And I could not resist posting this again. Well Manav is correct. "Sammukha" means face to face, or facing. Which would mean, Sammukha-Yuddha might be referring to either a "Dual", or "Face-off". This may be One on one fight, where two persons will fight each other. even in a battle at large. It could also mean, "wrestling", which more accurately is "Malla-Yuddha" and in much friendlier terms. Thanks Neil.

Comments:  Somebody mentioned "Sammukha" and "Mukha" in earlier emails. Well, yes "Mukha" means face generally, and "mouth" more specifically. In the same context, "Sammukha" or "Sammukh" means "Facing" or "In front of". "Aanan" is precisely "Face". But, "Mukha" can and has been used loosely for "Face", e.g. "Mukharvinda" means a face which gleems like a sun. Anyway, this is a beautiful site. I haven't finished reading it completely, but I will. I was talking to one of my Chinese friends in an Art class, about how Huen Tsang (well I know the spelling is not correct), and other philosophers came to India during the period of Gautama Buddha. She would be delighted to read this site too. Thank you very much. Neil.

Misleading information is put which is not only wrong but also demeaning. I would suggest that a department keep its eyes on the Internet for refuting and taking up challenges. Otherwise the visitors to their site may never know the truth.
