Is there such a thing as 'Hindu terrorism', as the arrest of Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur for the recent Malegaon blasts may tend to prove? Well, I guess I was asked to write this column because I am one of that rare breed of foreign correspondents-a lover of Hindus! A born Frenchman, Catholic-educated and non-Hindu, I do hope I'll be given some credit for my opinions, which are not the product of my parents' ideas, my education or my atavism, but garnered from 25 years of reporting in South Asia (for Le Journal de Geneve and Le Figaro). In the early 1980s, when I started freelancing in south India, doing photo features on kalaripayattu, the Ayyappa festival, or the Ayyanars, I slowly realised that the genius of this country lies in its Hindu ethos, in the true spirituality behind Hinduism. The average Hindu you meet in a million villages possesses this simple, innate spirituality and accepts your diversity, whether you are Christian or Muslim, Jain or Arab, French or Chinese. It is this Hinduness that makes the Indian Christian different from, say, a French Christian, or the Indian Muslim unlike a Saudi Muslim. I also learnt that Hindus not only believed that the divine could manifest itself at different times, under different names, using different scriptures (not to mention the wonderful avatar concept, the perfect answer to 21st century religious strife) but that they had also given refuge to persecuted minorities from across the world-Syrian Christians, Parsis, Jews, Armenians, and today, Tibetans. In 3,500 years of existence, Hindus have never militarily invaded another country, never tried to impose their religion on others by force or induced conversions. You cannot find anybody less fundamentalist than a Hindu in the world and it saddens me when I see the Indian and western press equating terrorist groups like Islamist SIMI, which blow up innocent civilians, with ordinary, angry Hindus who burn churches without killing anybody. We know also that most of these communal incidents often involve persons from the same groups-often Dalits and tribals-some of who have converted to Christianity and others not. However reprehensible the destruction of Babri Masjid, no Muslim was killed in the process; compare this to the 'vengeance' bombings of 1993 in Bombay, which wiped out hundreds of innocents, mostly Hindus. Yet the Babri Masjid destruction is often described by journalists as the more horrible act of the two. We also remember how Sharad Pawar, when he was chief minister of Maharashtra in 1993, lied about a bomb that was supposed to have gone off in a Muslim locality of Bombay. I have never been politically correct, but have always written what I have discovered while reporting. Let me then be straightforward about this so-called Hindu terror. Hindus, since the first Arab invasions, have been at the receiving end of terrorism, whether it was by Timur, who killed 1,00,000 Hindus in a single day in 1399, or by the Portuguese Inquisition which crucified Brahmins in Goa. Today, Hindus are still being targeted: there were one million Hindus in the Kashmir valley in 1900; only a few hundred remain, the rest having fled in terror. Blasts after blasts have killed hundreds of innocent Hindus all over India in the last four years. Hindus, the overwhelming majority community of this country, are being made fun of, are despised, are deprived of the most basic facilities for one of their most sacred pilgrimages in Amarnath while their government heavily sponsors the Haj. They see their brothers and sisters converted to Christianity through inducements and financial traps, see a harmless 84-year-old swami and a sadhvi brutally murdered. Their gods are blasphemed. So sometimes, enough is enough.At some point, after years or even centuries of submitting like sheep to slaughter, Hindus-whom the Mahatma once gently called cowards-erupt in uncontrolled fury. And it hurts badly. It happened in Gujarat. It happened in Jammu, then in Kandhamal, Mangalore, and Malegaon. It may happen again elsewhere. What should be understood is that this is a spontaneous revolution on the ground, by ordinary Hindus, without any planning from the political leadership. Therefore, the BJP, instead of acting embarrassed, should not disown those who choose other means to let their anguished voices be heard. There are about a billion Hindus, one in every six persons on this planet. They form one of the most successful, law-abiding and integrated communities in the world today. Can you call them terrorists? Have you ever tried to understand the similarities between the atom and atam.( ATOM VS ATAM). You will be surprised if you research in this direction. The shape of the atom has something to do with the shape of the solar system which is related with the shape of the supreme energy (Shivlinga means Paramatam).try to see before you all these shapes i.e atom solar system, shape of a galaxy and shivaling and see the similarities. The meaning of Physics and Rigveda is same. If modern science is a research work on Non living matter and talks about the smallest building block (atom and then comes to the conclusion of E=MC2). Indian spiritualism is a research work on Living matter and talks about smallest conscious energy (atam and then comes to the conclusion of all which is visible or invisible Parmatam). If science talks about Proton Neutron Electron, Indian spiritualism talks about Brahma Vishnu and Mahesh respectively. If you read about the Big Bang theory regarding creation of this universe and about beta decay process and parallels you read about the creation stories in Puranas you will find that beta decay process has something similar to the picture you have seen in calendars where Brahma is coming out from the navel of Vishnu and Lakshmi sitting near the feet of Vishnu. Even though all the matter has been created from the same source, but depending upon the qualities and physical properties of the discovered atoms (even though they have same protons, neutrons, electrons) scientists classify them in to four main groups (as you know s,p d,f) similarly Indian scientists classify living beings into four major classes like Brahmins, Kshatriya,Vaishya and Shudras. Science says matter is nothing but energy condensed E condensed as M, same is the statement of Indian mystic that a part of paramatam condensed in the form of this visible universe. Different livings are nothing but atam depending upon its desires has wrapped these atoms in the form of different shapes around it. Like incompletes valance shells an atom becomes reactive and undergoes different chemical bonding process forming different compounds similarly an atam due to its desires takes different bodies in different births because atam never dies with death as it is never born nor dies like the statement that energy can neither be created nor destroyed. The atoms which have completely filled valance shells become inert, similarly those human beings acquire these qualities unite with the super consciousness and are liberated as long as they live like an atom with incomplete valance shells they undergo 84 lakh types of bodings as different forms. That's why in The Bhagavad Geeta, Lord Krishna (like a neutral atom) preaches Arjun (like ionised atom) how to become neutral and get liberated. Now try to read The Bhagavad Geeta in this way and you will find all the answers of your queries and enjoy life. As nature keeps balance any actions performed by human race due to its desires compel the nature to balance it by its opposite and common human see it as a change .If you go deep in the research at subatomic level there scientists find different patterns of energies to whom they name differently like bosons, leptons and so many. Up to now they have discovered more than 200 different patterns of energy. On the other side in Indian spiritualism they such different patterns of conscious energies as different gods and goddesses. Like a prism which splits the white sun light in to seven different colors and a lay man can be illumined by its beauty and can take it as reality because he can not see the trick behind it, similarly Maya split this same godly energy into different form and human perceives it as reality and don't see the One Reality playing behind it. These days I don't see any programs on this in TV channels. It is surprising and very sad to note that there is not even a single video (At least I could not find. The ones on you tube does not show real feat) available in Internet. There are 8 different distractions that Avadhani has to answer. Even the 8 different ones are not mentioned completely. There are different kind of main problems that can be given (not the 8 distractions) and the solutions are a great literal feast and feat. Our ancestors learned rishis/munis were all philosopher of Vedas and mantradrisha, they traditionally used to study Vedas from their gurus, realize the same knowledge by hard practice of astanga yoga. At the last stage of nirvikalpa samadhi they used to realize God and by virtue of their God realization they used to get eight major siddhis and 8 minor as quoted by Rishi Patanjali in Patanjali yoga sutras. They used to do havan/yajen. Till 5000 years back, until Mahabharata war Indian culture was Vedic and we had such great souls even after Mahabharata war, however this great Vedic knowledge was lost as public stopped taking interest in it. Till today we had such great learned astanga yogis and philosopher of Vedas. Now I am reading Vedas a divine light part I and II, Bhagwat Gita Ek Vaidik Rahasya by Swami Ram Swarup ji (www.vedmandir.com). His knowledge of Vedas in today’s time is unimaginable. Many western scholar have written commentaries on Vedas but without enlightment (by practice of astanga yoga a yogi realizes God) and not being mantradrishta they can not know the real hidden meaning they can only interpret it intelligently and show the world that it is like any other text further belittle the significance of Vedas and show our culture small due to imperialist attitude. I request you all to study these books and delve it into deeper with practice of Astanga yoga, both of them are divine as quoted by many great siddha yogis like Swami sammaratha, Gajanan maharaja, Swami Nityananda of ganeshpuri, Paramhansa Yogananda, Swami Dayanand Saraswati of Arya Samaj, Lord Swaminarayan and Swami Vivekananda. In addition I would like to share the sad plight of our ancestral and ancient temples due to neglect by tamilnadu government. Recently I have visited the cosmic Shiva temple located at Cuddalore 150 Kms from my place. This is the only Shiva temple where Shiva is not worshipped in lingam form; he is worshipped in Nataraja form. This temple is a masterpiece of architecture; however it is not maintained properly due to lack of funds. All the funds are taken by Government. The Karunanidi Govt is anti Hindu. Similar fate is of an ancient Shiva temple at Thirukkulkundaram near my place. The premises are dirty, the water reservoirs are not cleaned, no lights and fans in the temple. In spite of this negative attitude priests are performing their duties due to devotion to god which is commendable. You can find massive and beautiful churches well maintained in all these places. The irony of it all is that India is supposed to be the Hindu majority place, where the demise of Hinduism is planned systematically by the Media, Congress and Marxist governments. All collections from the temple are taken by government and used for other purposes instead of looking after the premises and shrine. Under the garb of secularism and Marxism systematically Hindu heritages are being ruined. Indian media is biased and anti Hindu so no support from this quarter. I hope we all should promote the wisdom of Vedas which talk of Dharma a righteous code of conduct and lofty ideals on oneness and humanity. OM, Rashmi. You don’t have to burn books to destroy a culture because newly evangelized people will stop reading ancient epics like Mahabharata and Ramayana and Sanskrit literature. Hinduism is the bedrock and foundation on which this solid civilization has been built upon by our sages (rishis) and has survived. All other ancient civilizations (Greek, Egyptians, Mayans etc) have vanished like dust. Indian culture has deep roots in her Vedic Sanskrit traditions. Conversion kills not only religion but it annihilates culture, language, dress, food etc as well. Religion and culture cannot be separated. Religious conversion makes indigenous people rootless and without pride in their past. It helps to deracinate and alienate them from their native environment. There is nothing as tragic as watching a once ‘proud Native Indian Americans’ and ‘Australian Aborigines’ reduced to living in abject poverty in confined reservations and selling handicrafts and trinkets by the highway in the US and Australia. India needs to invest large amount of money in departments of prominent universities to conduct research and to encourage learning Sanskrit at an early age in schools. Our education should instill pride in our ancient past as the Europeans and Chinese do by learning Latin and Chinese. Our pompous and secular Indian elite can rattle of Newton and Shakespeare but not Kalidasa, Panini or Aryabhatta. This is the tragedy of today’s so called secular India. But these so called Anti-Hindu Media have not given any importance, because it has been done by the Christian missionaries. Apparently, in the Unreached Bloc, "harvesting" souls is an end that justifies almost any means." Mark my words, today there will be no major Indian English newspapers on the Internet with flaming editorials about democracy in danger or self-righteous calls "deploring" the dastardly act. Compare this with the treatment with when the Australian missionary Graham Stains and his two sons were killed the Indian and foreign press spent weeks – if not months – in eulogizing Graham and making Nazis of all Hindus held responsible for his murder as well as tarnishing India’s image abroad. Then the whole national and international persecution industry was in full swing. Evangelicals piously claim from rooftops that they are persecuted ‘everywhere for practicing their beliefs’ but in reality they are creating havoc with native cultures and traditions and society. Comments:	Sanatan Dharma triumphs yet again. If you recall, my marriage to Rohan was viewed with great indignation and suspicion by my family members, especially my mother who thought I was destined for dozakh (Arabic for hell). Upon my insistence, my mother attended a satsang and from thereon, she was fixated. She was amazed at the tolerance of Hinduism and that it never showed any other faith in poor light but stressed on the fact that the roads to salvation may be different but the ultimate destination is the same. This was so unlike preachers of Islam who insist that nothing else is sacrosanct but that mentioned in the holy book. My father has started watching Ramdev Baba's yoga on TV and following his exercises (this was earlier banned in our house as it was considered Hindu) and he has no qualms in admitting that it has done him a world of good. For someone who were so vehemently against Hinduism and had nothing but hatred and contempt for it, this is a welcome change. I hope you are all with me in my quest to show my family the "real way". Comments:	Dear Sushamaji, Kamal Hassans' recent movie - 'Dasaavathaaram', made in Tamil n Telugu basically talks about the human passion of killing each other at the behest of their personal ideologies. Hindus killed each other in the name of Shiva or Vishnu few centuries ago and now people all over India want to kill each other depending on their ideologies (Hinduism/Islam/Christianity). Just because of the killings previously Hinduism has not lost its essence and because of the recent day killings or proselytization Hinduism will not loose its essence. Islam with great hypocrisy labels itself the ‘religion of peace’ and Christianity piously and with great impudence calls itself the ‘religion of love’ – an oxymoron since both of these Semitic faiths condemn all non-believers past and present to Eternal Hell. Both these intolerant religions are merely exclusive clubs or cults that have the supreme arrogance to denounce innocent non-believers to Hell. How can these so- called religions be of ‘love and peace’? They will surely not rest until they have destroyed all others faiths in their quest for global dominance. In the field of spiritual wilderness they are like the proverbial "weeds" that will not let anything else grow. The recent bomb blast in different parts of India by Islamic terrorism and the Christian missionary agenda of using Hindu scriptures in the Bible reference to steal and deceive Hindus is part of that plan called The Great Commission to annihilate Hinduism. I agree with you that there was no such race as Aryan but title of this book by Mr. Gidwani was selected so that book is sold in huge numbers.
