Sir John Woodroffe (1865 -1936) the well known British scholar, Advocate-General of Bengal and sometime Legal Member of the Government of India. He served with competence for eighteen years and in 1915 officiated as Chief Justice. 

His most popular and influential book, a major contribution to the appreciation of Indian philosophy and spirituality, is The Serpent Power – The secrets of tantric and shaktic yoga, Sakti and Sakta, Introduction to Tantra Sastra and The World as Power. He had predicted in his book, Is India Civilized: Essays on Indian Culture that: 

“In every way, the coming assault on Hindu Civilization will be the greatest which it has ever had to endure in the whole course of its long history.”

In Europe and all over the world nowadays it is very popular to speak and discuss about Indian culture, ancient Indian philosophy and the glorious past of the country. In everyday life Europeans constantly hear or read in the media about some new yoga seminar being organised, or about the appearance of a new guru in Western countries, drawing the public attention. They hear superlatives about ancient Indian culture over and over again from different places and in different contexts.

But what is worth so much activity, so many words, and do they really help people understand the actual state of modern Hinduism and the challenges that stand before it? I would say-not at all!

"The truth is that the situation of modern Hinduism, of all India, is far from perfect. In fact, it is alarming, if not altogether catastrophic. Even if some Indians-the so-called "secularists"-do not realise that, it is more than obvious that Hinduism is fading in obscurity, its relative influence in Asia is decreasing with every month, with every day. 

Perhaps we are living at the last centuries of Indian civilisation and the situation of today's Hindus is very similar to the Iranians from the late Zoroastrian age or Ptolemaic Egypt. Drastic steps must be undertaken very soon, or Hindus will share the fate of these great nations of the past. "

In fact, what I fear the most is that providence, the supreme spirit, or the force of history acts against Hinduism. Maybe the historical processes lead to such a state of things, when on the planet only the so-called "Abrahamic" religions will continue to exist-Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. Maybe the fact that the great religions of Egypt, Babylon and Persia died out a couple of millennia ago is not accidental. 

But I would like to believe Hinduism is too valuable for humanity, and sacred Indian books contain too much precious and unique knowledge that it will not sink in oblivion. I'd like to believe that the principles of Indian philosophy and religion are much more in agreement with the needs for the future than any other religion in the world, in agreement with the tendency, known in Western countries as New Age. 

It's my deep belief that without India the world will sink in spiritual darkness and ignorance.

"So, what must be done in order to save Hinduism and stop the Islamic flood? There is only one way and it is called mass conversion of Muslims into Hinduism. If Hindus want to survive, they must convert. They must adopt the strategy of Catholic missionaries and Muslim mullahs. I don’t mean only conversion of one-time Hindus that only recently adopted other religions. Hinduism must convert also people of non-Hindu origin. The fact that they live in India is enough because all Indians, notwithstanding their religious affiliation, had once had Hindu ancestors. "

The 2005 edition of the World Christian Database (http://www.worldchristiandatabase.org/) says that India is now 6% Christian. Refer to India - State wise Christian population - 2000 AD - crusadewatch.org.  In the Northeast of India, Christianity is being blamed for destroying indigenous cultures,  refer to In the name of the Church - By Rahul Karmarkar.  Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio has urged the church leaders not to convert the few remaining followers of indigenous faith because “if every Naga is converted to Christianity, the faith, culture and identity of Naga society will be lost forever.” Many in Nagaland deem it unfortunate that the “church has been very critical of indigenous Naga faith and culture, dubbing our forefathers as wild, savage, naked, cannibal, heathen and pagan.” That is indeed ironical for a state where militants used the ‘Nagaland for Christ’ slogan to justify secessionism.

If there was a sufficiently numerous class in India, hard and systematically supporting the cause of Hindutva, politicians would not have to court the Muslim minority. In most countries religious parties are supported by nearly 30-40 per cent of all the followers of this religion. In India 40 per cent of all Hindus would mean 30-35 per cent of the whole population, and this is about three times more than the 13 per cent Muslim electors in the country. With such a distribution, all political parties in India, including the Congress Party, would favour Hindu political slogans and would build an image of strong defenders of the Hindutva principles.

Secularism and the lack of political thinking are the main problems for modern India. 

Secularism is the main cause for the biggest absurdity in modern Indian history-the birth-control programme. This enterprise is the strongest factor for the immense growth of the Islamic society in India in the last 50 years, and very soon, it must be, if not completely abolished, at least strongly reduced-otherwise Muslims will certainly become a majority on the subcontinent.

As for the Hindu middle class, it must adopt a fertile line of behaviour following the example of the Jews in Israel, i.e. to orient towards multi-child families. Since the demographic situation in India and Israel is pretty much alike, and the enemy of both the nations is the same.

Generations ago, European colonists and Christian missionaries looted Africa 's ancient treasures. Now, Pentecostal Christian evangelists - most of them Africans - are helping wipe out remaining traces of how Africans once worked, played and prayed.

As poverty deepened in Nigeria from the mid-1980s, Pentecostal Christian church membership surged. The new faithful found comfort in preachers like evangelist Uma Ukpai who promised material success was next to godliness. He has boasted of overseeing the destruction of more than 100 shrines in one district in December 2005 alone.

Achina is typical of towns and villages in the ethnic Igbo-dominated Christian belt of southeastern Nigeria where this new Christian fundamentalism is evident. The old gods are being linked to the devil, and preachers are urging not only their rejection, but their destruction.

The Ezeokolo, the main shrine of Achina - a community of mainly farmers and traders in Nigeria 's rain forest belt - has been repeatedly looted of its carved god figures. While no one has been caught, suspects range from people acting on Christian impulses to treasure thieves. "We feared it may be stolen or destroyed like so many of our traditional cultural symbols," said Chuma Ezenwa, a Lagos-based lawyer. Early missionaries to Nigeria condemned most traditional practices as pagan. Roman Catholics and Anglicans later came to terms with most practices, even incorporating some traditional dances into church liturgy. But there was no room for local gods once their erstwhile worshippers became Christians. "Where the older Catholic and Anglican denominations are more tolerant, the Pentecostals reflect more strictly the idea of a jealous God that would brook no rival," said Uzoatu. The changing attitudes have not escaped the attention of art dealers. "This work you see here is from a shrine. It was brought to me by one woman who said her pastor had asked her to get rid of it," said Wahid Mumuni, a dealer at Ikoyi Hotel in Lagos, gesturing toward a carving. "We are ... telling the Christians that they can't detach themselves from their past, that there is a beginning to their history," said Omotosho Eluyemi, a senior commission official.

Okwy Achor, an archaeologist, fears the government's response has been weak compared to the fervor of the evangelists. Achina is part of the region where famed Igbo-Ukwu bronzes were discovered in a private compound in 1958. Older and more sophisticated than the better-known Benin and Ife bronzes, the Igbo-Ukwu bronzes date to between the 8th and 10th centuries and provide proof that a unique form of metallurgy evolved in Nigeria . While Achina had few Christians 60 years ago, they now constitute more than 95 percent, says Emmanuel Eze, a retired teacher. "There is hardly anyone around these days to speak up for tradition," said Eze.

Vatican City - The Vatican on Friday defended the "right and duty" of Catholics to do missionary work aimed at converting people from other religions and other Christian denominations. The assertion came in a document titled "Doctrinal Note on some aspects of Evangelization", issued by the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith, the Vatican's department in charge of matters of church orthodoxy.

Bible Burning Row Ignites Israeli Jews - Orthodox Jews have burned hundreds of New Testaments in the latest act of violence against Christian missionaries in Israel . Proselytizing is frowned upon in Israel . New Testament seeks to convert all non-Christians, not just Jews. Proselytizing is illegal, trying to change Jews into being Christians is illegal, to hand out bibles is illegal. This theft of Jewish souls by Christian missionaries can lead to genocide, loss of Judaic culture and religion or the extinction of a race.

Respect for religious freedom and its promotion "must not in any way make us indifferent towards truth and goodness. Indeed love impels the followers of Christ to proclaim to all the truth which saves", the 19-page document said. Similar proclamations by the Vatican that the Roman Catholic Church believes its message to be the "truth" and that its mission is to make converts, has angered leaders of other Christian and non- Christian faiths. But the Vatican 's top Indian-born cleric, Cardinal Ivan Dias, said he believed the "vast majority" of Hindus - the largest religious group in India - would welcome the document.

Pope Benedict Solves Mystery of Pedophile Priests ?

On April 19, 2005, in an arcane rite of “transubstantiation” known only to the College of Cardinals, the rabid Rottweiler Ratzinger became, with a puff of white smoke, the kindly, thoughtful Pope Benedict XVI, the 265th Bishop of Rome and leader of one billion Catholics worldwide.  

During Benedict’s million-dollar-a-day junket to the United States , a trip that the Vatican admits is a P.R. opportunity to change a German Rottweiler into an American Golden Retriever, the mystery of pedophile priests was cleared up . . . sort of. According to Benedict, it is America ’s “increasingly secular and materialistic culture” that caused priests to fondle and rape children. Keep in mind that the “materialistic” remark is coming from a guy who has been seen sporting a pair of custom-cobbled red shoes, Gucci sunglasses, ceremonial gowns by Gamarelli, and listening to an iPod Nano while tens of millions of Catholics worldwide struggle to feed their families, much less put shoes on their feet or sunglasses on their faces.

Pastor Rod Parsley (1957 - ) the leader of a 12,000-member congregation World Harvest Church, has written several books outlining his fundamentalist religious outlook, including the 2005 Silent No More.

Parsley targets a profound threat to the United States : the religion of Islam. In a chapter titled "Islam: The Deception of Allah," Parsley warns there is a "war between Islam and Christian civilization." 

Parsley is not shy about his desire to obliterate Islam. In Silent No More, he notes—approvingly—that Christopher Columbus shared the same goal: "It was to defeat Islam, among other dreams, that Christopher Columbus sailed to the New World in 1492… Columbus dreamed of defeating the armies of Islam with the armies of Europe made mighty by the wealth of the New World . It was this dream that, in part, began America ." He urges his readers to realize that a confrontation between Christianity and Islam is unavoidable: Parsley is not shy about his desire to obliterate Islam. An enormous clout wielded by Western Christian fundamentalist organizations who, following the invasion and destruction of Iraq , which they had so fervently abetted, are now calling for a repeat performance, this time in Iran . Insisting that America and Israel should invade Iran at once, they regard this as a Christian necessity. They also believe that this would herald a global war of cosmic proportions that would, so they believe, usher in the end of the world and Jesus' Second Coming, something that they passionately await. A key American Christian fundamentalist ideologue is the Texas-based televangelist John Hagee. He is no insignificant crank, although his views are, to put it mildly, wildly outlandish. Hagee's latest book, ' Jerusalem Countdown: A Preclude to War' encapsulates the Christian fundamentalists' case for a joint American-Israeli invasion of Iran .

Tracing the cause of anti-Westernism simply to Islam, Hagee claims that Jews and Christians, on the one hand, and Muslims, on the other, are presently engaged in nothing less than the final battle for global domination, and that, in fact, World War III has already begun. . It is a war to the finish, even if it brings about the destruction of the world and the entire human race through nuclear conflagration. In fact, Hagee seems to clearly suggest (and this is something that he appears to share with numerous other influential Christian fundamentalist ideologues) that this grand, final war must be speeded up by all possible means, for only then, he believes, will Jesus return to the world, destroy all non-Christians and dispatch all 'good' Christians, like Hagee himself, to ever-lasting bliss in heaven. 

In this war against the Anti-Christ and China , the West will join forces with the Jews, at a place call Armageddon, a narrow valley outside Jerusalem , which the Bible describes in considerable gory detail. Jesus will descend to earth from the skies, clothed in a garment dipped in blood and seated on a white horse. With the sharp sword that he wields in his mouth, Jesus shall 'strike the nations' that have gathered against Israel, killing the Anti-Christ and the 'Man from the East' and sending them-literally hundreds of millions of people-all non-Christians, that is-to eternal torment in hell. Jesus would then ascend his throne in Jerusalem , from where he would rule the entire (and, if Hagee is to be believed, the by-then entirely Christian) world for a thousand years. A 'Golden Age of Peace. That 'best' that Hagee and his fellow Christian extremists so fervently pine for, is nothing less than the destruction of the entire world.

Clash of monotheism? Islam vs. Christianity. In the world today, one religious ideology, monotheism, stands out as especially dangerous, repressive and loony. 

What is the difference between evangelical Christianity (so called religion of love) and Jihadi Islam (so called religion of peace)?  

Missionaries are rarely caught because their agents are at the highest echelons of power and also have the best public relations campaign in the world. For this reason evangelical violence on Ancient cultures is hard to detect.

"The origins of both religions are based on the claims of two men, Jesus and Mohammed, and both men proved equally incapable of demonstrating their divine mandate. From that perspective, the two creeds are equally based on false propositions and can be classified as nothing more than lies.

Mohammed ordered his followers to do it by the sword, and that is what they did once he died. They launched into one of the most enthusiastic conquering ventures the world has ever seen and forged an empire that extended from Central Asia to the southwest of Europe.

Nations were ruthlessly converted to Christianity by the sword just like Islam converted Arabia, Central Asia, and Africa by the sword. With his armies, Charlemagne preached the Gospel of the cross to the Saxons, the Germans, the Bohemians, and the Hungarians. 

This was not the only evangelizing military operation. There were also the infamous Crusades from the eleventh to the thirteenth century, the Inquisition, and the conquest of the American continent from the sixteenth century onwards. Throughout the Middle Ages in Europe, the Christian Church was the most militarily powerful organization in that continent. Being the largest landowner and the biggest tax collector provided the Pope with huge amounts of money, which were used to solidify his power by establishing a potent armed force. However, Christianity has had a more pernicious effect on progress than Islam for it has hindered more the advance of science. Since Christianity is the religion of the West and Christianity has systemically opposed, silenced and killed scientists, it is thus the creed most accountable for having hindered progress.

Charles Francois Dupuis (1742 –1809) French scholar, a professor (from 1766) of rhetoric at the Collège de Lisieux, Paris, anti-clerical, branded Christianity as a religion of terror, in contrast to simple, beautiful pagan religions.  

With anti-clerical fervor typical of the Enlightenment, Dupuis castigated Christianity for its attempt to monopolize universal mythology — that is, to hijack the script for the human species. He argued that pagans were closer to the reality of the world because they saw divinity in the forces of natures and read the book of nature, and particularly the Zodiac, like a divinatory text.

Pat Robertson American Christian evangelists on his 700 Club was recently asked:

A viewer wrote in to ask Pat Robertson a question:

Why [do] evangelical Christians tell non-Christians that Jesus (God) is the only way to Heaven? Those who are Hindu, Buddhist, Islamic, etc. already know and have a relationship with God. Why is this? It seems disrespectful.

Robertson replied that it is not all disrespectful because all other religions really just worship “demonic powers.”

No. They don’t have a relationship. There is the god of the Bible, who is Jehovah. When you see L-O-R-D in caps, that is the name. It’s not Allah, it’s not Brahma, it’s not Shiva, it’s not Vishnu, it’s not Buddha. It is Jehovah God. They don’t have a relationship with him. He is the God of all Gods. These others are mostly demonic powers. Sure they’re demons. There are many demons in the world.

Say Goodbye to pluralism

Dr. Koenraad Elst (1959 - ) Dutch historian, born in Leuven, Belgium, on 7 August 1959, into a Flemish (i.e. Dutch-speaking Belgian) Catholic family. He graduated in Philosophy, Chinese Studies and Indo-Iranian Studies at the Catholic University of Leuven.

"Moses taught the Hebrew people a religion, which divided humanity into two: Chosen People and the rest. It divided space into two: the Promised land and the rest. It divided time into two: the time before the Covenant (between Yahweh and His People) and the unfoldment of God’s plan staring with the Covenant. Fortunately, in later centuries when the Jews had no political power left, they transformed their self-righteous religion into a strongly ethical religion with a mystical dimension and a pluralistic culture of Scripture interpretation through intellectual discussion. However, the seed of Moses was still there, and it was taken up by Christianity. 

In the Great Commission, Jesus calls every Christian to step out in faith and spread the Good News. 

"And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Christianity (aka. Religion of Love -with its Crusades, The Inquisition, Imperialism, Genocide in Americas, Australia, etc) - again divided humanity into Christians (saved ones) and Pagans (doomed ones). This automatically divided space into two: the Christian countries and the Pagan countries. But while the Jews had limited ambition to the Promise Land, Christianity wanted to convert the whole world. As the New Testament had said, in seeming innocence:  

“Go and teach all the peoples”. It also divided time into two: the time when the original sin reigned supreme, and the era of Jesus Christ, the Saviour, our Lord (marked as AD, Anno Domini, year of the Lord).

Islam (aka. Religion of Peace - with its Jehad and Slaugher of Hindus) - Mohammed, who used to travel to the Christian city of Damascus as an agent of his wife Khadija’s company, brought monotheism and prophet hood to Arabia. He divided humanity into two, the believers and unbelievers. He divided the world into two: the Muslim-ruled countries, or Dar-ul-Islam, and the rest, called Dar-ur-Harb, the land of strife.

Marxism (Stalin's great purges, Pol Pot in Cambodia, 20th century Chinese democide) - is the latest and shortest-lived offshoot of this lineage of closed and aggressive creeds. Its God is history, which is one-dimensional version of the Christian-Islamic doctrine of “God’s plan unfolding in history. It divided humanity into two: the progressive forces, who have history on their side (today: the proletariat), and the rest, who will be wiped out of history soon. It divides the world into two: the Socialist Republics where the proletariat is in power and does its redeeming work of establishing classless society, and the rest, where revolution is yet to take place. 

The one thing these three world-conquering creeds have in common, is their boundless self-righteousness in overrunning, the societies of the non-chosen peoples. They have respected nothing of what was sacred to the Pagan, often not even their lives. 

(Note: A rare use of "Pagan" is to describe a person who does not follow an main Abrahamic religion. That is, their faith does not recognize Abraham as a patriarch. The individual is neither Christian, Muslim, nor Jew. This includes Agnostics, Atheists, Buddhists, Hindus, Humanists, Taoists, etc. About 45% of the people of the world are Pagans, by this definition.

Heathen is the derogatory term used to define Non-christians just as the word Kafir is used to define Non-muslims.

What is the missionary definition of Heathen? - The heathen are spirituality lost, wicked, willful sinners, without Christ, having no hope and without God in the world. Their moral conditions are reeking with filthy and degrading habits& They are marked by abject poverty, wretched homes and unremitting. (source: The Progress of World Wide Mission - By R. Where these have come in conflict with each other, they have not spared each other either, witness the Crusades and the Spanish Reconquista, the treatment meted out to the Christians in Muslim countries, the Armenian genocide the wholesale persecution of (an already softened) Christianity in the Soviet block, the confrontations between the Chinese and the Uighurs, the persecution of the communists in Khomenini’s Iran. Each one of them, in its prime, has (had) the unshakable conviction that it is bound to conquer the world, and that ultimately no opponent would survive to give testimony against its outrageous crimes. 

But what goes up, must come down. Religions that are not sanatana, (eternal) ingrained in human nature and therefore age-old, religions that have a beginning, are also bound to end. 

There was no Christianity before Christ, no Islam before Mohammed, no Marxism before Marx: therefore the creeds of Christ, Mohammed and Marx are bound to end. So if Hindus wait long enough, these thousands of mosques built on destroyed temples will all fall back into their lap. They will be abandoned, or Muslim-born people will convert them into Pagan establishments themselves."

Note: What is the difference between evangelical Christianity and Jihadi Islam?

There is not much difference in their thought as they are competitors trying to outrun each other. Modern day Evangelical missionaries inflict 90% psychological and 10% physical violence whereas jihadis inflict 10% psychological and 90% physical violence. Missionaries are rarely caught because their agents are at the highest echelons of power and also have the best public relations campaign in the world. For this reason evangelical violence is hard to detect.
